How are we all,
Was lucky enough to head out to swains reef last week for a weeks fishing. What a fantastic part of the world. Headed out on New Horizons out of Yeppon. John Hallets boat.
Any way, got out to the reef on Monday morning, (reef was closed for 8 days prior) and as soon as we could see we had the lures in the water trolling behind the big boat. Within 3 minutes the ratchets were screaming and two of the rods were hooked up. After about 10 minutes one fish spat the skirt, and the second fish could be stopped. It was break the line with full drag or be spooled and have no line of the reel for the rest of the week.
Everyday consisted of big breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and lots of drinking. But of course the highlight of the trip was the fish. Lots of Coral Trout, Red Throat Sweetlip, 4 Reds, 3 Cobia, 1 Spanish Mackeral and f*#k loads of Sharks.
Heres the photos that sumed up the whole trip.
Photo below was an inlet that we fished for the first day because of the reef closures. We caught muddies for the day.
