Looking at the pics of Macmauler's slugs, it seems they are bum heavy (hook end) compared to most others I have seen. Does this help with casting distance, and also its action underwater??
Mick, they are quiet different to the ones I was shaping [smiley=smash.gif] these come out of a mould. your right about the shape its a little different to the average slug, I think for vertical jigging less chance of bite offs sinking with the hook end first, it makes sense they would cast further that way with less tumble. they went through some serious testing and the way they are works best in general.
the shape doesnt fit my idea of the perfect slug but they sure brain the fish, they do wobble around and twist etc and to some extent it turns the fish on and off, like any lure there just a tool you gotta tweak em right to get the best from them.
for tuna fishing there are better slugs but you will still get heaps with these, mackerel however is there specialty.
JB, we had 7 in the boat b 4 anbyone else turned up.
I actually headed wide to make sure I never went through anyones lines, actually went straight back to the ramp.. was home by 6:30...LOL

There can be no doubt about those slugs. Extensive field testing has proven they are are mack magnets
