magnificent sevens!

when out of sth passage bar, fished the sevens got 3 striped tuna, one bonito, 12kg kingy , 2 dolphinfish aroung 3kg and lost a wahoo. lovely day out on the water and current was running pretty hard!

damon, we were out that way chasing marlin, left the area at about midday, raised one nice one but missed the shot.

we towed a couple of pushers and a couple of blue pillys but only saw the stripeys which at first made us optimistic but that wained and we started looking in the live bait tank and i was keen to put a bend in me 37kg stand up rod with the 80lb braid,eggbeater jobby it is!, gee it puts the brakes on those kings that normally will reef you on any class mono..... i got smoked off on the 1kg by a dolphinfish using a livey, but it was more about the current then the fight ability of dolly(if they get a little side on to you in the current the water pressure busts it!).... not that i think they are poofter fish its just in my mind nothing pulls like the serioli family(kingies, ajs and sambos')
no spotts in the sthn bay or tuna's so next shot will be up at bribie.
top day on the water! kills work thats for sure!
what boat were you in ... i was in "spot x's"aka roy lane's 1850l hainse with the snapper decal on the cab.

i got a pretty rough head so i don't own a camera! and i tend to stay away from mirrors.....like a vampire!
but picture a kilwell 37kg rod with 12kg of drag getting stripped off at 18knots! with a rough headed blood nut going' ooooooooooooooooohhh alot!
