    Top of the Bay

Off to a late start this morning and was away from Bribie around 8:00am. Not sure what the day would bring or how long I would be out but conditions were perfect and Spotties were the target.

Well - The boys are well and truly back in town gents. Wall to wall Spotties going off on the surface and in 30 mins had bagged out on some excellent size Spotties. Continued on for the next couple of hours practising some catch and release.

Decided to head out to Flinders and wet some lures and within 15 mins had a smalll yellowfin on board. Saw Bugman out the for a while but he had gone before I trolled around to the moorings. On the last lap before stumps decided to troll back in the opposite direction. Halco Laser Pro (Qantas) got absolutely hammered and drag was screamin (luv that sound ) 15 mins later and I had my first Spanish on board for this season. Top day and hope tomorrow is just as good.

Also saw a guy slow trolling livies get hit by a small beakie there as well.

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hey Greg
Awesome catch there. Good to see that the macks are back in good numbers. Prolly heading out tomorrow to chase a few in the morning before the wind gets up. Not to familiar with the grounds up off Bribie, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Greg,

I saw the Sportfish on the Eastern side when we pulled up. I had my brother and sister in law on board with their little 14 month old girl. When we anchored up the sister in law started turning really green so we had to shove off almost instantly. Shame because I was itching to get wet.

We had a couple of cast at some spotties working north of of combi but they were very spooky and we couldn't get close. Never had the rod out in anger again for the day.

Ended up driving to Tangas and having lunch and few beers while watching the cricket then went for a lovely swim in the resort pool before heading home.

Awesome day on the water nonetheless.

Greg were you in the same area Saturday morning, we were the boys in the seajay tinny, i think working the same school as you for an hour or so. There was an alison fibreglass into them as well.
