Sunday 9/1 - Pt I & II
Pt I -
Decided to get up and have a fish with SP's not too far from home during the run-in tide. Went down to the boat ramp at Breakfast Creek (On the north side opposite the car wash) and walked through the park to the end of the fence. From there you can get down onto the creek edge. There were a few big pylons within casting distance, and a few boats moored a bit passed that.
Flicked the softies around the pylons for hours, and the best I had to show for it was a 25cm grunting little catfish!!!
Other than that - Nothin....

Pt II -
Decided to go out to Fisherman Islands for the run-in tide at night.... Out there before the sun went down, high tide at 8:30pm... Bought squid for bait.... Took along one rod for the squid under a float for the middle of the water, and the SP rod to try to find some bream or flatties...
The wind was howling, and the water was moving really quickly. You could cast your bait out, and within a few minutes, it would just drift into the rocks down from where you'd be standing!!! Tried the SP's around the bridge pylons and rocks... Had a few bumps, but nothing on. Then the kid just down further lands a 30 odd cm bream!!! DAMN IT!!!!
Tried a few different places, but just couldn't find anywhere comfortable to fish, and I had forgotten a torch, so fishing on rocks, in the dark, with no fish....
Terrible day for fishing really...

Well i nee some lessons on how to use SPs and some lures, so if your interested send me a PM and happy to take you out on Tingalpa river/creek for some lessons
There must be an art in using them cause every time i use the damn things they never get touched, either i am using the wrong stuff, or doing the wrong thing, either way i am determined to try and catch even a damn toad fish on one.
Cheers,
David.

if the fish aint there it won't matter what you use. I'd say try some of the creeks, canals or lakes on the coast. I'm pretty new to fishing with lures and my first bream on SP's was 35cm caught in one of the lakes down the goldie.

Pt III - Thought i'd sneak back last night to try the Brekky Creek at night. Found a little jetty I could get to via the concrete sides, and cast SP's all around (and under) it. Nothing! Wandered along the sides of the creek throwing em left right and centre around pylons, boats, floating branches, etc.... Nothing!
Cast into the middle of the creek in frustration, and got a few tiny nibbles, then one almighty bang... Hook didn't catch (Or the bugger spat it) and lost it. #
SP was destroyed though.... Parts missing, ripped in half almost.... Teeth marks on the jig head!
Kept trying for another 30 minutes or so - Nothin!!! Went home in disgust!!!
Damn Creek! Shouldn't have named it Breakfast Creek. Never once caught a feed there!!! #>
