Well boys, hope we are well after a very festive season.
Haven't put a post for a while, with work taking up a lot of my time, but we are back and in form...
Went out through the Seaway early Friday morning with two mates and bolted straight to the pin in seas that resembled an OIL SLICK... Trolled around the 45-55m mark for the hour and then worked our way wide off north Stradbroke. Had a small marlin come up and have a look at the lures then flicked off. Found a few balls of bait on the surface with birds working them. Couldn't get a touch so kept moving. Then all of sudden BANG, the rigger let go and a massive splash. Quick fight and had a nice 9kg Wahoo.
Fishing in about 70-80m of water north of the pin bar, then all of a sudden a marlin came and picked up a lure, then spat it. Then he came back and grabbed another lure and had a solid hook up. Good fight for 25 minutes and Steve had his first marlin... Released the cranky little black and kept going. Headed back to the pin and had another fish in the lure spread, knock a lure out of the rigger, but no hookup. Nice day till the southerly got up.
All the best
Dominic
