G-day all, im back from my holidays up at townsville and innisfail, this year the weather was great and allowed for plenty of fishing.As for fish, it would be easier to write a book on our exploits rather then a report but here goes anyway. Christmas day and boxing day involved a bit of crabing and spearfishing, the crays this year were few and far between, but persistance payed off..Between boxing day and new years eve we hit the reefs out from dunk island for mackeral and trout. The trout bit poorly close to the reefs but were on fire in the 60meter areas and we landed many quality fish.The mackeral were hit and miss as well. We did a few day trips to the reefs and a few overnighters in the deeper water. Out on the shelf the water was boiling with acres of yellowfin tuna that were feeding on small pilchards, among them swam many large sharks and billfish, we trolled lures among them as they didnt seem to worried by the boat and hookups were instant.
