Myself and Mick just got back from our yearly Lucinda Trip and whilst it wasnt as productive as past years still had a abll and caught some decent fish. Considereing when we left the forcast read 25 to 30 knots we werent expecting much but when Kerry went south it strated to look good.

Fished the channel first couplke of days with little luck as the tides were huge. Triied several spots drains ect with live prawns and gar and mullet with only bream, and bull sharks answering the call. Didnt know bull sharks could bite through landing nets.

We attributed much of our poor fishing to the size of the tides as my cousin who lives up there was only fishing the same spots a week ago and landed about 15 barra over3 days all over the 60 cm mark.

Speared the palm island group but found only big red emperor in about 60 feet just out of our range. That place must get a good hiding I reckon.

Finally got out to the reef on the last day through howling wind and squally rain (took 40 minutes to do the last 5 mile). Caught some quality trout and big GTs and dropped a BIG spaniard.

Overall a good week of single man time. Will post piccies as soon as posiible.
Planning a Haughtoin River trip soon if anyone is interested
