    mackeral fever - noosa dec-jan

    Dear Doctor,

I am a surf fisho but I just can't do it anymore .
Countless hours spent getting smashed around by tonnes of water, aching legs & sand in every orifice ...

I've got a fever - I've got it BAD ! It started Tuesday Dec 28 2004 when a hairy mackeral man knocked on the caravan door at 4.30am - he gave it to me - a bag limit of spots - spots everywhere - spots here, spots there - BIG SPOTS too....

... it kept going into January, the sweats - the fever ...

my surf rod, rigged but untouched by the salt.

... & I've still got it, a really bad turn in fact on Monday Jan 15, the dreaded BLUE FEVER - enough for 4 men ......

    help, help, help

    Ha Ha Ha

Welcome to the dark side of the RAZOR GANG.

Never again will you feel the irritation of sand between your toes. Never again will you get knocked over by that freak wave and never again will you have any money in your pocket.

You wait - after the blues there's even bigger ones that coast more to chase

Alvey's going cheap in the for sale section soon Chris?

    LOL

caught on sunshine - spots on the 33m line blues in 24m with trolled pillies - if i get more specific than that I'll be beaten with a firehose

the last day of blues before the southeast was outstanding. In 12 fish the smallest was 760mm & was about the only under 10kg - biggest two were 20kg & 22.5kg with a couple of 18kg & 15's for good measure.

Total credit to the skipper though & those older salts who taught him - he does it without sounder, gps, downriggers etc

He even picked the marks when cloud covered the land.

    I'll be back at Easter.

    chris

Don't worry to much. When the Westerlies start and the mullet start running you will be hunting down those waders you have thrown in the corner of the shed.

What a coincidence I caught the same affliction at the same spot 25 years ago. In fact it was the same caravan park. And you wouldn't credit it but my seven year old has also caught it.

Thank christ there is no cure.
