my brother is an air traffic controller in the RAAF doing a radar course in Sale presently (at the base of course) - the place would be buzzing presently to say the least. Its always seemed a nice enough town when we've visited for RAAF graduations etc - pretty quiet.

Fishing ? It is Victoria - there is a reason we Queenslanders have 2 names for Snapper based on size & they don't
& how do you cook Sweep to stop it tasting like errr ... Sweep?

Probably a lot worse places in Vic to have to go. You will have all the lakes district, fishing up towards the prom, and all that great fishing they seem to have up at marimlula etc that is only a few hours north. I would not be overly concerned.
