    Mooloolaba Sat 29th

Late Sat arvo, Tim ( Zeeke ) sort of convinced me to head nth to the Sunny Coast for a spot of Mack fushin !

I headed up late in the arvo and launched into the river. went to the bar to see whats doing ? 15knots and small seas but jiggely and a bit of swell running.

It was dark so I hit a few on me fav spots for some Bream. Yep, they are still there. Also got hammered so up'd the tempo a tad. Yep. 1 x 44cm spotted Grunter.

Wind still up at 12.30 and not looking like abating, cause the tide changed 2 hours ago ? I managed a 39cm Estuary Cod, a Few 25cm Moses Perch and the obligatory ( 6 ) Bream. Best went 37cms. Not too bad for summer. I ony kept the Bream and Grunter.

Messaged Tim while he was asleep, what the wind was doing. I didn't feel like bouncing all the way to Old Woman Island in the morning, so I pulled the pin, happy with the few hours effort.

Maybe you'd like to add ya report here Tim, of your effort offshore ? catch ya next time.

    mmmmmm
    lemme see

If my 6 weight flyrod didnt snap 2 days ago my face would be but it did.. so today.. catching a million and 1 bloody dart to 1kg on a 10weight flyrod made me end up looking like this

Sean managed to score himself a snappery squire around 3kg, his new PB on soft plastics and a few tailor around the 50cm mark.. if we were surfers, we woulda enjoyed the view we had, watching perfect barrels rolling onto Old Woman Island, we also had a few close calls when we drifted too close and managed to sneak out seconds before 4 sets of waves rolled and broke only inches from where we were sitting.. good day, but no tuna or mackerel showing, i saw one mackerel swimming around by itself 2kms east of Old Woman while we did a bit of a troll but yeh.. pretty quiet day for us too...

    Tally
Dart: Lost count at 1 Million
    Snapper: 1
    Tailor: 2
    Unstopables/biteoffs/dropoffs: 20+

2 Close up, dart with a 1/0 Eye Bait in his gob.... and no its not called an eyebait because its pinned the poor critter in the eye, but because in the water, the fly's eye is the most visible thing.. making it look like a baitfish

    Re: Mooloolaba Sat 29th

Sean took a few, but none would do it justice unless they had a camera like yours Doug... he might upload some more

    Re: Mooloolaba Sat 29th

Stop teasing me with the little guys , I want to see your kilo dart been a while since I pulled one that size out of the suds. Might be just the nudge to get me over to straddie for a quick assault.
