Point Lookout Fri 4 Feb

Watching the weather report over the past few days made me feel physically ill so I took the only remedy I could think of and went fishing. Headed through the South Passage bar just after dawn, which was a piece of cake on the Amity side. Trolled from Middle Reef around Boat Rock to the Point and beyond. Scored a few bonito, 2 hefty mac tuna and a couple of rat yellow fin (sorry, no pics...was solo and it was just too hard to hold fish and take photos). Turning around out past the point I spotted a blip on the horizon that turned out to be mackmauler coming back from...Fiji? Sorry Rob, didn't introduce myself...good to see you out there. Headed back and checked out the Rufus King on the way in. The Bay was glassy flat on getting back in so I spent the rest of the day doing some prospecting around the Rouse and converting bonito into rat squire at Harry's. All in all a fantastic day on the way despite a bit of a lack of decent fish. The following couple of pics might whet your appetite for the possible conditions tomorrow.

Hahahaha...you're asking ME after THAT result for the day? Hmmm...if its anything like last weekend up at the Cape take some fenders so you don't dent your hull on the boats on either side of you

gday mate, i was the deckie beside rob and that was my older bro dave up the front! we didn't have to deal with the macktuna, thank god. still scored a feed of fish fro the family and plenty of sushi daves japanese mrs! No marlin.... not much to work off, but great conditions to be out on the water! you bloody legend rob!

Was a nice day to be out, though there was plenty of water between the fish, as I was saying no electronics today made things harder than usual but a few fish came our way, Mick take some credit you did a fine job nailing the only mack.

I was staring at the background trying to work out where Rob is finding those macks out there, unfortunately all I see is waves and I don't recognise any That's at least four quality spaniards I've seen in Rob's boat this week I think. How have you been dragging them up mate? ???
