After arriving late friday afternoon we were greeted by a caramel milkshake coloured creek. Aparently they had 5 inches of rain the day before we arrived. Anyway we came to the conclusion that if we couldn't see 5 centimetres into the water the fish sure as hell wouldn't be able to swim out a couple of metres from a snag to take a lure. Anyway day two headed out to the mouth in search for some clean water. Found it cept the wind was making it very unconfortable. Stayed there for a few hour for 0 results so headed back to the dirty water line and trolled fluro orange shallow diving lures. Picked up 1 big toad fish 1 barracuda and 1 taylor. Also had one sceaming run that got wraped around a crab float. rest of the day was spent working snags again for 0 results. After talking to other people at the caravan park aparently the mouth was fishing really well before the rain with good hauls of trevally and queenfish. This morning when we got up the wind was blowing 30+ knots. Enough was enough headed back home a day early but we'll be back sometime in more favourable conditions.
