Fishinmishins back in action after being off the water while I re-did the floor (and no, it's not pink anymore). I was planning a run off Noosa this morning but as a late start I decided upon Moreton Bay. Seemed a bit quite while heading out but then I started seeing spots. Hadn't been drinking much yet and so I decided to keep heading out. Then my wife started seeing spots too . We agreed that mabey we should make the most of it and instead of worring, we should start spinning.
First couple casts the lure was gone before we wound the line tight as our spots were everywhere. We resorted to starting to wind back as the lure was still in the air so it hit the water running. Double hookups, fish flying into the boat left and right and blood and teeth everywhere. By the time the dust settled we found ourselves with an eskie of 10 spotties and 3 schoolies. The spotties were still running soooo thick that if you have enough co-ordination to pick your nose , you would be able to bag out in under 10 minutes. Sore arms and the new floor good and christened, we decided to leave the macks and head home. Spotted some tuna working so we couldn't help ourselves. We travelled from school to school and at some times found us inside such a HEAVY boil that we had to scream to be heard above the noise. A trio of mac tuna and we didn't see any longtail so we finished our trip home. As my wife have only a couple of photos together I traded the guy at the jetty a Mac tuna(for his cat?) in exchange for him to take a photo for us. 3 in each hand for me and a pair in each with the wife we struck our best pose only to realise now that he didn't press the button fully to take a photo . A good day out and good to see the baits back in numbers with the fish close behind. Think I'll head out tomorro .
Cheers,
Jay
