Nice fish there mate...what size and colour snapbacks were you using?
Cheers Brent
Headed over to the western side of Moreton with Ratman to try this soft plastic jigging on Squire that everyone is talking about. First 30mins saw two 3kg Squire on board. We finished up with another four kept and a few just legal released. This was the biggest buzz I have had fishing for a long time.
We used Snapbacks on 1/2oz heads and I think could have used 3/4 oz or more as the tide and wind played up. The Berkly powerbaits I tried just got chewed up before I could hook up which is pretty much what happened when I have tried Softies before. Great fun and worth a lot more playing around with.
Here are the fish I brought home. Ratman kept the largest one so it missed out on a photo opportunity
Cheers

I think they were a 5" īn Blue Glimmer colour, Model SBJB5BGL 5CT on 1/2oz TT 5/0 Jigs. I was usind 10lb Fireline and 30lb Penn 10X leader. I think I will invest in something lighter and in Flurocarbon for next time. Great fun on what is basically beefed up Bream gear.

Bloody good effort there horse, have a look at the gut on two of those fish, is that where the Berkly powerbaits ended up?? Obviously photo taken at night, what time were you fishing and how far up the island were you??
We were around the Cowan area but I think any of the dropoffs may be worth a shot. The better fish were taken in the morning on the run in.
