to bad for ya mate. did ya learn any new words or did he?? anyway good on ya with the doggies.
Scott
Going out today was a must do after yesterday. Got out late and tide starting to fall and couldn't spot any birds but mostly I wasn't seeing spots like yesterday [smiley=freak.gif]. Looked like had to work harder for a couple today. After a bit of searching came onto schools of mac tuna but there was also schools of longtail that seemed to be spending more time out of the water than in so they were easy to spot. 2nd cast and Wade was on. Brand new Kmart set-up was in action. After 45 minutes we had it swimming just out of gaff shot range. No leader grabs as although I hate telling stories about the one that got away , this was easy over a meter and with 20lb short leader hanging out of his mouth. Directly under the boat it ran and up the other side. Wade couldn't get his rod deep enough before SNAP [smiley=angryfire.gif] [smiley=wut.gif] [smiley=bigcry.gif]. By this time seems most of the schools that were working just out of casting distance during the fight have dissapeared . Jigged some beacons and trolled some lures all resulting in doggies. Followed some mac tuna schools but no more longtail and not a spottie anywhere ???. After a feed of doggies and a few released we called it a day. Think I'll give Friday a go as still seems to be heaps of bait around and I only scored one mac tuna today . Just trying to be a good host .
Cheers,
Jay

the school macs were down but jigging & trolling produced. Double hookup below and Kylies 1st mac.
Scott,
To say he was p*ssed would be an under statement as that was his heaviest fish to date. I keep texting him the word 'tuna' every couple of hours as a freindly reminder . Although the fish below was my only for the day .
Didnt see a white side console tinny out there did ya with a few stickers on the sides including Bush n Beach... Rob saw you
Tim
hehe I saw you out there too Jay 8) There was a few spotties around there for a while but heaps of doggies today.
And a big freakin Tiger shark
Zeeke - u need a VHF
Cheers
Greg
Feel welcome if you spot me to come close and say hello or try me VHF 67. Always good to share a bit of days info. Gonna letter 'Fishinmishin on the side of the boat soon anyway.
Its heartbreaking when all gear is ready, up early and get out there and there is no fish in sight. I use large spoons trolling for long tail.We use the tuna {awsome bait} when we venture outside fishing. Sounds like the deep divers are working well too.
yeh.. VHF is next to go on my boat.. just need to get myself a VHF liscence... get rid of the bloody 27meg radio that just sits there and has no purpose because it only picks up static... few big sharks out there.. we had a 20kg longtail bitten clean in half... wasnt even felt just ended up with half a fish next to the boat

Dane - are you talkin AUSFISH MACKERAL MAYHEM DAY
Surely we need to organise this before the water goes cold
I'm in if I am around 8)
Cheers
Greg
I could well be talking a mackerel mayhem day I was thinking to myself last saturday, after finally finding a school after 6hrs of looking around the bay that, "wouldn't it have been great just to have had a bunch of boats spread out to find them, rather than us using 45L of fuel to catch 3 fish..."Originally Posted by Sportfish_5
I'll be in too if I can convince my crew that, "THIS TIME WE'LL GET THEM"
This Saturday???
