BRIBIE PASSAGE MIXED BAG
HEADED OUT IN THE EARLY HOURS THIS MORNING FOR A NICE MIXED BAG 3 BREAM ABOUT THE 28CM MARK, MOSES PERCH, A TAILOR, 36CM SWEETLIP, AND TWO SQUIRE 1ST 1LB AND HALF AND THE OTHER 2LB 10OZ. MOSTLY CAUGHT ON PILLIES GOT SMASH A FEW TIMES ON 50LB BRAID AND CHASED A HUGE STING RAY AROUND THE PASSAGE FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. WENT LIKE A PROUD FISHERMAN TO THE BAIT AND TACKLE TO WEIGH IN MY SQUIRE TO BE FOLLOWED UP BY A GUY WHO WAS FISHING NEAR TO ME MOST OF THE MORNING TO WEIGH IN A 9LB SNAPPER THATS RIGHT A 9LB SNAPPER IN THE BRIBIE PASSAGE HIS MISSES CAUGHT IT ON BREAM GEAR. ONE QUESTION TO ASK YOU GUYS IS IT SQUIRE SEASON AT THE MOMENT OR WILL IT IMPROVE AS WE GET INTO WINTER. GOING AGIAN NEXT WEEKEND KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED. BE CARFULL IF YOU HEAD OUT HEAR AS THERE ARE PEOPLE FISHING OF THE MAIN BRIDGE GOT CAUGHT UP IN LINES GOING UNDER AND MY SON NEARLY GOT A HOOK IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD I JUST GRABBED THE SINKER IN TIME. ALL I GOT FROM THE IDIOTS WAS HEY BECARFUL PEOLPLE SHOULD READ SIGNS ITS GOING TO GET ALOT WORSE IF THE POLICE DONT START FINING PEOPLE. TWO MORE BOATS GOT HOOKED UP ON THESE IDIOTS AFTER ME. A

Looks like ya had a good day mate!
The squire can be caught all year round in the bay, although the general opinion is that winter is the more productive. Seems to be plenty around at the moment but most are under the 35cm mark, good luck next week, hope you score a big one...foxy

well done mate they are some briliant passage fish, you should be really pleased with your effort. best of luck next weekend hopefully u can beat that guys 9lb squire with a 10lb er.

I've heard winter is the best time to catch snapper as they move in from the deeper water as it gets cooler. Having said that there has been some great catches over the summer. Looking forward to winter.
