Mark McKeirnan (owner of Reel Crazy that I have been fishing on) won a free trip with Damon Olsen and his 34' Kevlacat Nomad a couple of months ago at a Jones' Tackle Jigging night. It was all inclusive for one day for 4 and I was lucky enough to be offered a spot. After one false start a couple of weeks ago we headed off Saturday morning for a day of Bait and Switch on Blue Marlin on the shelf. It wasn't our day with a leaking hose from the cooling system to the turbo which needed a bit of bush mechanicing then 0-0-0 on the fishing front (one of only about 5 days for Damon). Just fun being out there and picking Damon and Tim the deckies brains for the day.

So then I met up with other Kingaroy locals, Ronny and son Scott (Another Ausfisher) and their Haines Hunter V19C for a couple of days bottom bouncing. Put together a good feed on the Northern Coral Patch at Rooneys then went out for a look at the Southern Gutters on the Monday. Should have stayed at Rooneys the way it fished. Scott will have some pictures soon of the fish. Nothing outstanding but we hooked quite a few large sharks we didn't get to see. Here is Ronny on one on 100lb braid.
Good. Bagged out on Hussar, 5 Parrot, 3 Sweeties, 2 Stripies, 2 Spanish, 2 Schoolies and some Trevally. Had about 6 awesome hits on poppers from Spanish and Longtails jumping 6' in the air on the strike. First bottom bounce this year.
How was Tradition? How did you get that gig? Have you got a price on Pakula's boat? Heard it is sold but would have been a good buy for you if you are looking at Berties.
