    Mud shallows again

My son and i left for Mud island again on thursday night,
late start - left the ramp at 10pm and headed out into a slight chop in the bay.
fished in the protected calm waters in close again and with the cloud cover blocking the near full moon, we decided to fish in shallow.
some small sweetlip, squire ,bream and a cod were kept and 16 sandies in the esky.
Tried to catch some fresh bait the next morning to possibly stay out another night but were hard to find, so headed back to the ramp leaving some beautiful weather behind....
    regards darren

Know what it is like Darren. I was out there last night from about 3.30pm till 11.30pm and went through more bait than an off shore trip. Was out with Commodore (no not "The Commodore", the original one) and another, and between 3 of us we went through 4kg of fresh squid and 2kg of pillies. Got to the stage last night when we were counting down the bait to the time would have head home. Second last bait and Matt caught a Shovelnose Shark. Ok, If verminator eats them, then perhaps other fish would. So we chopped it up and gave it a go. Was just optomistic. So had no choice but to call it a night. Didn't do that well though. Only 3 keepers for 3 people and 8 hours. Sounds a bit sad doesn't it. 1 fish per 8 hours.

Interested to hear you got a Bream. We didn't see any, but looking forward to a few close in sessions this winter.

    Craig,
6 kg of bait sure matt wasnt eating some of it
We would have liked to fish out a bit wider on some interesting bottom we found on the sounder on a previous trip, but it was blowing at 15 knots plus - from the southeast,
    too uncomfortable unfortunately.
    Webby,
One night i''ll get you on the rum out there in winter.....
might loosen your lips regarding those secrets
