Weather picture perfect, campground full of happy Easter campers enjoying fine conditions and good fishing.
Good catches of Yellowbelly reported from most areas of the dam, mainly caught on bait bobbed around the submereged trees in around 5m of water.
Several reports of a large Cod that broke off 4 people in the same location over the weekend.
I fished the timber north of the Lime stone caves from 4.30 pm till 6 pm, water temp was 23.4 deg c, no wind and ideal conditions to cast lures in amongst the trees.
Rod Penn Pinpoint, Reel Abu 4600 ultra cast, with 15 pound Fireline and 20 pound Vanish leader, lure Manns 15+ in green and yellow.
Casting the lure past or parallel to the trees in approx 3-4 metres of water, a quick wind to get the lure down to depth then a slow twitching retreive resulted in two nice Golden Perch, 47cm and 51cm, measured and released ( still got 15kgs of Barra in the freezer from Awoonga Last week) Ah this fish/n is hard work.
