after being a cheaky ####### a couple of nights ago and asking dfox when he was gonna take me out for a spin in his big bad boat.. we organised to head out sunday morning around 1.. , launching at 1:15am at mooloolaba, we headed out, with the ocean being fairly flat it wasnt too bad, but there was still alot of shit slop around which made things a fraction uncomfortable.. after a couple of hours run heading north east. we arrived at Daves spots and i proceeded to do some technicolour yawning [smiley=sick2.gif] but things prooved eventful, with me laying down a decent burley trail and adam having a bit of a sympathetic projection on the otherside.. it was time to catch fish, my only problem was, i was absolutely stuffd.. 6hrs sleep in the 48hrs ahead, and a whole day trying to sleep before the trip didnt work.. so i had to sit and watch while Dave, Adam, Sean and Milton (Show us how its done Milt!) catch some awesome pearl perch, average size pearlies around 40cm being thrown back because they were too small, the aaverage keeper was around 2.5kg with one of the largest going around 4.5kg.. Milton also showed us how to nail Amberjack on alveys.. nothing makes a rod sing then with braid and a 25kg amberjack on the other end! a few more peaarlies later i suggested to sean he try and score a new species on soft plastics, so out came the pearl white snapbacks, 2nd drop and he scored himself a nice pearl pearch.., a few small red emperor were also caught and Adam also got a nice looking parrot
other then a swell that didnt know which way it was going and a few squalls, the conditions out there wasnt too bad..
Thanks again Dave, your the man!
Total fish tally
Amberjack: 1
Red Emperor: 3
Parrot: 1
Pearl Pearch: 40+ with only a few decent ones kept but near bag limit for everyone
spewboy good to see ya out there
wasn't much better down south here either with a swell that just stood up all day
we mainly trolled for a couple of yellowfins and a few stripe tunas
we did bounce along the bottom a bit but only got some vermoin
flathead and more gaint seargent bakers

Nice work Timbo!
Dave might feed you a bigger breakfast next time, should keep you burleying all day long! lmao
Looks like you boys had a fun day out anyway. Nice catch [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
Onya Tim ,
You didn't do too bad if a veteran like Adam was also having a spit .
Looks like there were still some good fish comming aboard .
Pretty marginal conditions , we headed out at 5.30 AM and were going to go to the 12 mile . With the Shi##y joggle around ended up at the Gneerings , then Coolum . Total fish in the boat " O " .
You weren't on your own ,my deckie was also pretty GREEN for most of the morning
Gotta say, Dave certainly knows his fishing and where the fish are... we were pretty much in the middle of bloody nowhere and he put us straight onto them.. hopefully he'll invite me out again sometime and i wont do a hakka yakka
Dug, just tell him you'll make him famous!
Pete, yeh, ive only been going offshore for 6mos really.. ever since i did that trip to pancake creek with rob last year and since i got a new yammie on my lil tub.. i think i did well, even tho i did yak.. took a couple of kwells and that helped me a bit.. but its not fun sometimes.. least in a big boat like daves, ya dont have bad thoughts constantly going through your head about how rough it is, it just thumps through the rough stuff... bloody awesome boat!
Tim The Bream,Tell the truth old son it was just the thought of getting all that smelly,'orrible BAIT on your hands n in the fingernails that put your belly into upchuck mode didn't you have any soft plastics to chew on to settle you down. .Touchy><>.
