Hi guys went for a early morning fish yesterday 3/4/05 at the pin, arrived at the ramp to a glorious morning at around 5:30 put the boat in and went straight to Kalinga, managed to get a good drift in between the boats which were anchored anyway after a few lost rigs and bout a dozen drifts later we ended up with 5 really good bream (big enough to swallow a 5/0 hook) and 4 lizards between 45 and 67cm realeaed about 5 smaller ones and a sweetlip at 28cm on the final drift we had a double hook up on to lizards that went 89cm which where photographed and sent back to fight another day unfortunatley i left the digital camera in the car so had to use my old still camera. all the fish where caught by 9am as i got a phone call to go to work... cheers
Sounds like a good trip. Most of my fishing down there is on soft and hard lures. Have picked up a couple in the 80s but not 89cm. What baits were you using?

Just thought I would post a pic of how good the pin was on Monday morning - had the day off as I had family up so took them out for a fish. Managed a flattie and good size muddie - weren't exactly jumping in the boat, but we got out late and missed the ideal tide.
This photo was taken about 10am looking west towards Kalinga Bank, with North Crusoe in the background. There was hardly any wind till lunchtime and virtually no swell coming thru the bar - you don't get too many days up there like this! I can't imagine what it would look like to day - forecast is for 3m swells and 20-30kts wind.
2 boats on Kalinga Bank - I love fishing durng the week! Unfortunately I only get 20 days off a year and the wife and kid want most of them - I'm sure I'm not Robinson Crusoe in that regard!
