    Rous Channel 24-5-05

Magic day though wee bit chilly first up. Fished my usual spots without a touch and in desperation went to a long-unused patch I used to know and found it full of horse whiting. Biggest (almost) 40 cms and littlest 25 cms. Action was full on and they really put on a turn. Gunna hit 'em tomorrow morning and make a serious hole in them!

    Hi Commodore,

Are they sand or winter whiting?

    Nice fish at 40cms

Great fish fingers in beer batter

My guess is worms , though they don't mind a prawn or a pippy.
At nearly 40 cm , I would guess sand whiting.
40 cm would be a world record for a winter whiting.
