    Mooloolaba Saturday Night

Decided to go for a fish saturday arvo to Murphy's reef to see if there were any snapper hanging about. After rounding the point we decided to head to a patch of reef between the blinker and murphy's that had produced the goods in the past.

We cast out as soon as we got there and before we even had a chance to get the burley going there were two snapper on the deck. In the next hour we got 7 snapper, a pearlie and a small mack tuna.

The best snapper went 4.4 kg and the others were between 1 and 2.3 kg.

Headed home at about 9 o'clock.

Here are the three best snapper.

nice fish reel killer, we were out earlier hoping to get the banks but it was pouring rain and pretty average conditions so we made the call to pull the pin and save the fuel. maybe we should of put up with the rain and sat it out.

good report reel_killer. Good to see the snapper have started in close. I plan to be out on the close reefs off Mooloolaba next Saturday arvo/evening.

    hey guys
went out sat night at midnight got to one spot only to relise we were not on the mark i wanted to be on went to start the motor to move . nothing turns out the starter motor has shit itself. sat on the one spot till 10am the next day all for 5 grass sweetlip 1 30kg cod that was not well when he surfaced after we popped his swim bladder and tryed to release him we relised it was to no avail the trip was not one i wish to remember after we were towed in by the coastguard at the cost of $85 per hour and being a member of Bribie vmr makes no difference. when we tryed to get the anchor up to be towed in the anchor was 15feet below the surface with another rope and anchor wich could not be raised even with two decky's and the help of the rescue boys . turned out to be a very expensive trip on the bright side got heaps of fuel left for the next trip
    cheers fatty
