    Hards and banks monday 6th

Fished the hards yesterday in pretty sloppy conditions. Four of us got our bag on pearlies, 5 nice snapper and some tuskies(what you guys call parrot). Had a dive on the banks in the afternoon and shot a 15kg spanish mack. Also saw a few snapper in about 30m. Dove with and filmed some dolphins feeding on our burley, pretty cool. Long run out and back so glad we got some. Cheers guys

Sounds like a great time. Where do you fish out of, and what's your boat?

Have a 5.3m stabicraft with a 140 jono 4stroke,motors only 3months old. We mainly dive the sevens off straddie and the reefs of moreton hutchies etc. We sometimes dive the banks and if we go all the way out there we sometimes have a fish as I'm partial to pearlies. I didn't take any photos as none of the fish were anything special.
We mainly spear jacks, snapper, amberjack, mackies, golden trevs, wahoo and a few dogtooth tuna at the banks. Let me emphasize that doing this sort of spearfishing is very challenging and we catch more fish when linefishing. We would generally spear larger fish though. I practise catch and release in my own way, by this I mean only spearing a small percentage of the fish I see. I also do a lot of filming. Not all spearfishermen are reckless and without environmental conscience, every sport has its cowboys. Cheers all and I'll keep my eye out for your lost anchors!
