Had a flick with plastics around the river mouth today, testing out some spots before the river to mud. No luck landing any bream though

Had to make do with a few flathead instead

biggest 57cm, then 55 and 51. A couple of pike as well.

I think I might use bait for the river to mud

Oh, just remembered I didn't report last week. Same spots on the river as today, bunch of pike, decent flattie, and a good bream. All on plastics.

    Hi Joe, Good work.
Justa Q regarding the pike. Are you keeping them for bait or to eat? What plastics are you using? Those flatties taste pretty good.

    Cheers

Pike will be used as cut bait, haven't tried eating one and don't think I will bother when there is good flathead in the freezer

Sp's were a variety, 2" berkley grub in bloodworm, 3" berkley minnows in lemonade pink, 2" berkley gulps in pumpkinseed. Usually 1/16 jighead with size 2 hook, although one flattie was landed on a 1/32 jighead with size 4 hook.
