    Jacobs Well

Took my new boat out for it's first fish today down at Jacobs Well. When we got there there was boats lined up all along the bank, I thought I'd have to take my own water to fish in!!

Went and pumped some yabbies for bait and then fish the edge of the yabbie beds as there was a substantial drop off.

    Threw out a few soft palstics for 3 flatties 2 x 35cm and 1 x 46cm. Also picked up a 33cm whiting.

After about an hour there headed off to the first spot. Managed a 52cm flathead on a yabbie and plenty of other little stuff.

Moved onto the next spot and caught two just legal bream in the first five minutes but let them both go. Decided to try for a bream on SP. Didn't manage a bream but bagged a 58cm flattie. Very happy.

Didn't catch anything else substantial for the rest of the day so went home with four keepers. 3 flatties 46,52,58cm and 1 whiting 33cm.

Had a great day overall and pleased o get a feed, a lot different than fishing off the bank like I am used to!!!

Great to see you christened your boat with a few good fish - you definitely have more options with a boat then off the bank.

Jacobs Well gets vey busy on the long weekends and school holidays. I find getting ther before dawn makes it more pleasant, and the people who are there at that time generally know how to launch a boat efficiently.

How far did you go in your boat - I imagine there were boats everywhere up around the Pin?
