teewah sat night, rainbow beach fishing club comp

hi fellas just got back from our long weekend rainbow beach fishing club comp.

me and my wife decide to target Bream/ tarwhine this comp in practice for the upcoming Rainbow beach fishing classic next month. we choose some drains down near teewah that looked the goods and worked them from about 9pm till midnight. we never saw one bream but scored some thumper tarwhine biggest going 1.34KG and the smallest was 1.05KG.

caught the biggest weighed inn tailor for the weekend at 1.6 Kg it wasnt a bigg fella but they seemed to be very scarce up there over the long weekend.
the whiting in the pic went 40cm and weighed 535 grams. it wasnt a very fat fish but another mate caught a thumper that went 723 grams. it was the same legth but had a huge gut on it, looked more like an overweight yella belly then a whiting.

caught about 12-14 flatty during the night but only two went over leagal, these two measured 42 cm and gave me a couple of bonus points for the weigh in.

in all it was a good comp, even though we got up there late and were 1 day dehind the rest we I still managed 3rd in the mens beach and my wife got 3rd in the womens( womens beach and reef combined ).

next club comps in two weeks, then the week long rainbow comp!!! yeha!!! cant wait.

well done mate,to both of you,getting a few tailor down this way now mate had some fun over the weekend with a few trying different rigs at different ranges. few brim about as well off the beaches ,kept the rod top tip nodding away in the darkness for a bit of added sport.

hope to start hitting the beaches up your way soon mate may just make that meet up
