howdy all
we left bribie at around 0630 yesterday into a super heavy fog.we didnt really have a plan as i was in the brother in laws boat and he gets sea sick BAD so i thought we would see what the swell was like.
when we got out to the shipping channell, northern, the fog was still thick but the swell wasnt to bad so we got a few livies .i got hammered on one of the markers and after about 15min on 28kg a big cobia came up,was going to release but popped the hooks boatside,so officially dropped it .
then headed up to caloundra for a troll close in,i thought with the recient rain we might get a few fish off the close reefs, but the place was pretty quiet.there wasnt any bait to be seen at most of my regular spots, the water didnt look to dirty but one of those things i guess.
had a quick look at the 4 mile but it was also quiet,so we bit the bullet and headed all the way back out past cape moreton.the spewin deckie pulled a good pearly first drop out wide so things were lookin up.the swell had dropped out and it was almost perfect.we managed a couple of good pearlys and squire each .and we lost as many to the unstoppables that were hammering them before we could get
them up.
one thing i was impressed with was the 575 with a 150 yammie 4 banga only used 87lt of fuel for all that running.
cheers for now
