    the chef's first on softies

took me scarborough neighbour out for a stab stab at the squire on soft plastics during the week as he was doubting the catches we were coming home with on sp's .
on the water by 6.15 and third cast saw a solid fish stripping heaps of 6lb braid off him , after a short but gracefull fight we had the varmit beside the boat for a net shot .
it was anything but copy book with the jig getting stuck in the outside of the net , fish still connected by the slimmest of lip hooks , flipped the net over and luckilly the bugger managed half it's bulk into the net and was cradled into the boat .
the resulting photo does not really do it justice but at 2.4kgs and 59cm it was Grants biggest bay fish to date ( let alone his first on plastics) .

    Giday Swano,
can ya tell me a bit about this sp fishing for snapper. Do ya have to anchor the boat or is drifting the go. Also what weight, and length of leader do use - and what are the best sp to do the job. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers Fritzy
