Ditto here ...sure was an awesome day at the Banks with the odd Snappa 'coming' aboard
& a few Spanners to top it off on the way home.
Well done lads with Sail on the way back in.
Top report & pics Bugman.....might have to get a few pointers on using those 'floaters' ..
Well done Bugman, heard you out there chatting to Streaker and Spiro. Were you guys up the northern end as I think I saw you and craigie a little north of us. We managed a good feed plus a 9kg ambo which we tried to put back but it was buggered so took it home.
What bait were you using on the floaters?
Cheers
Dave
I really can't beleive the turnaround in 12 months.
Last year I was a shithouse snapper fisherman and this year - well I won't pin tickets. Learning to float fish for snapper plus trying a couple of different locations has really made the difference. Thanks Brooksy.
Having said that this really seems the best snapper season that I can remember since I've been fishing in SE Qld.
Big Cods we were right on the northern end - or even maybe just off it and then moved slowly further south chasing pearlies. It would still be considered northern end - no doubt.
Sorry but I can't answer any questions on the sailfish - all I did was drive the boat and take photos, the marks, technique and hard work was all Brooksy's. Bloody nice fish.
Phil - I'm glad we were able to help you out with a feed of fish. You guys not catching much was the strangest thing I've seen. Were the spanners nice?
