Well done Brett. Hope you leave your good luck at home for Agnes in October. The rest of us want to have a day like that while there.

Awesome stuff Brett. Heard you guys were hooked up on
the radio. Good going getting it boatside.

Did you see any predators on the sounder around the bait?

What can I say it was a good day with great company

Fritzy the livey was hanging at about 30m.

Chemmy we were using both floaters and bottom bashers while we were drifting.

Ditto here ...sure was an awesome day at the Banks with the odd Snappa 'coming' aboard
& a few Spanners to top it off on the way home.
Well done lads with Sail on the way back in.

Top report & pics Bugman.....might have to get a few pointers on using those 'floaters' ..

    Cheers

any time of the year is "normal" for the sails to show up. they suit themselves i think. if they are ready they will show.

Well done Bugman, heard you out there chatting to Streaker and Spiro. Were you guys up the northern end as I think I saw you and craigie a little north of us. We managed a good feed plus a 9kg ambo which we tried to put back but it was buggered so took it home.
What bait were you using on the floaters?
    Cheers

I really can't beleive the turnaround in 12 months.

Last year I was a shithouse snapper fisherman and this year - well I won't pin tickets. Learning to float fish for snapper plus trying a couple of different locations has really made the difference. Thanks Brooksy.

Having said that this really seems the best snapper season that I can remember since I've been fishing in SE Qld.

Big Cods we were right on the northern end - or even maybe just off it and then moved slowly further south chasing pearlies. It would still be considered northern end - no doubt.

Sorry but I can't answer any questions on the sailfish - all I did was drive the boat and take photos, the marks, technique and hard work was all Brooksy's. Bloody nice fish.

Phil - I'm glad we were able to help you out with a feed of fish. You guys not catching much was the strangest thing I've seen. Were the spanners nice?

Top report Bugman, looks like you've had a great couple of days fishing. Top picture of the sail launching itself out.
