Gday All,
Finally got a first report worth posting after lurking on the site for a few months. Was able to swing a midweek fish yesterday and what a difference a day makes - 24 fath reefs south of the seaway and only 2 other boats out yesterday versus Saturday with what had to be 40 or 50 easy on the 24's alone!
Anyway headed straight to the spot we dropped a decent knobby on saturday to fish the turn of the tide and first drop landed a 52cm specimen. Thought "this bodes well" but that was all we saw of the snapper for awhile as the tailor came on the chew. Landed a few to 50cm before trying to get back to what we were there for but it turned out the Tailor had other ideas - couldnt seem to get away from them for the next few hours - not that I am complaining - they are great fun to catch.
We were on the last drift of the day when off goes one of the floated pillies out the back and 10 mins later were able to boat a nice snapper at 77cm and FAT at just on 7kg - pic below
