Well after heading north for some R & R fishing around the Sarina area, today was the first time in 4 days we actually got to put the rig in the water, wind/rain and bloody freezing conditions and rough seas have made us hit the bottle instead of putting bait in water.
So today we too the gamble and decided to head to mackay with forecast of 10/15, headed out but was still met by a stiff 15/20 so instead of headin wide we pulled up at this big rock island(forgot its name) not far out from the harbour.
Things were quite on the run out, but as soon as the tide changed, the action happened.
Fish boated ranged from sweetlip, moses perch, blue tusk fish, triple tails, and a variety of cod from brown banded cod, gold spots, morgans and honeycomb cod.
The susprise catch were some monster bream yes bloody bream around the 40cm mark which took full pillies.
And the biggest susprise which i came north to get away from was a bloody snapper.
Hopefully the weather gods smile tomorrow and we can get out and troll up some spotties or spanniards or even head further afield for reds or trout.
No pics no connection from camera to petes computer.
