    Bay Mixed Bag

Headed out fri arvo 3pm from Whyte in the neighbours new-secondhand Red Rum Runner, the second rig never showed as he was still doing his Nursing Course .
Crossed a choppy Brissy Bar, stuck the wet finger in the air to tell us a 15kt n/e was blowin, so headed south of Mud.
Arrived at spot x to find baitfish breakin the surface, so let a few divers loose, only to have both rigs demolished, so out again same thing???, stuff this out with a set of gangs, and not long Colin gets a hookup and a decent doggie on board. Bait dissapeared, so drifted the shallows till the sun went down and scored a couple of legal lizards on Plastics .
Then out to the deeper drop offs on dusk and let some Baits and Berley loose, moved to a few spot x's and managed 5 snap/squire.
As the tide got higher before the stroke of 11, we moseyed on into the shallows for a baby squire, grassie and pikeathon.
When to move further out and the White Anchor on the Rum Runner wont start, did all the mechanical things and no go.
This being Colin first toy and a little safety conscious, he has a 7hp aux, even this wont start
Knowing that Cheech Charters was further south somewhere playing in the shallows, made a long distance call from Mud to Green and asked for a Rescue Ranger Mission.
1.30am Cheech and Choung (Commodore) arrives, with Matt riding the bow like the Titanic and his Bright Eyes blinding us.
Got the aux going, and decide to follow them back to Manly, 3 mins into the journey, Cheech and Choung yell out is that as fast as you can go as they wanted to be home by Monday , you ever tried getting a 16ft up on the plane with a 7hp
Anyway a bit more tinkering with the white anchor and batteries nearly flat she fires, so its a strait bee line for the river, leaving Cheech Charters in our wake.
Thanks for the attempted Rescue mission fellas and sorry to disturb you from your baby fishathon, and dont blame the phone calls for missing those big fish
Get to the boat passage at 2am and the Water Rats Blue light flashing, decided its a good time to hoy us down, just as well we only scoffed a few rumbos during all the dramas. All sweet with them, back at the ramp by 2.30am.
Susprised at the lack of boats on water for the only good night for the weekend weather wise.
The catch minus the foot for the drama filled night taken in the wee hours of the morning.
    regards

    I dunno Ray,
I reckon you'd look good in a nurses uniform
If Webby said he was south - he could have been north, east or west.....
    Knowing his directions
Good catch Brian, another bloody mackerel in the shallows at night....
making a habit of that arn't you ?
I bet Colin was peeved off

LOL,,,, Cheech and Chong.... Even had the kids asking what is so funny whilst I was in hysterics reading this report.....

Matt, you know you now have a new nickname, don't you.

Glad to have "almost" helped. Though it would have been a long trip back to the ramp. Glad it arked up for you.

Then there we were, planning and doing a close in trip at green, and end up at mud,,,, what is a man to do,,,, time for a quick fish at a spot x. 2 squire later, time to head home.

I had a blast. I was also surprised by the lack of activity. Seemed to be the only good shot for the weekend.

Next time Ray you can just wear the white outfit with the red cross
Cheech and Choung Charters has certainly got a ring to it Craig.
Darren reminds me of a night, "What beacon", that beacons round the next point and the next point, as we sailed past it

hey, enough with slaggin nurses, can't help it if he made a bad choice of profession like i did. but at least it pays the bills.

And besides what other profession allows you to work beside women who wear short white dresses??? maybe dental?

    Re: Bay Mixed Bag

Definetly a doggie Rob, the flash has blotted out the spots on the side.
They were hanging around a beacon on the southern side of mud
