The weekends fishing/Monday

Took Nicky's dad out for a run Monday thanks to an RDO. The weather was perfect but being mid moon and bad tides I went to a spot I knew would produce some run and therefore Spanish Mackeral. I reckoned we'd pull some good trout too. Jeff has never fished much and this was his first shot at Coral Trout. The first drop produced half our trout limit with 7 straight up and he was having a ball. The bloody Spanish were being a pain and we ended up losing 6, some mid fight. They were very finnicky and the hooks were difficult to set. You could throw a heap of pillies at them and they would slowly investigate before sucking them in slowly leaving only the hooked one alone grrrr. Was a good day in the end but with the bag reached easily.

If the bag out wasn't good enough along with the Jacks caught the day earlier, I nailed this big fella as the last fish of the day in 105 feet of water on the Mack floater. He took a live Fusilier.

Just got him away from another Bronze Whaler. Men in grey suits took a few quality fish off us this trip.

Well done mark.......The trout are certainly on the chew....we ve gotten a few every trip now. wish id get my digi cam back from gettn fixed to post reports....

Spanos chewn hard close here aswell. Bout the same size as yours! The tuna have shown up here too. Good to get some free bait!
