    Bass, Trebles, Fingers

Title says it folks. There were too many of all the above to recount the entire 3 hour session
Hit one of our favourite little creeks for some bass spinning early this morning since the offshore report was looking dodgy to say the least
We tried poppers, sp's, hard divers, thongs and sandwich rappers - could'nt stop the buggers from hitting everything that landed in water.
We could not find a vacant stump or lilly bed - tough morning pulling fish in tight water every cast!
Final stats for the day 42 bass, size 38cm to 47cm, weight max 1.7kg.
All of them were so healthy and fat - I was amazed at the weight of some of the ones around 44cm. They pulled like 2kg fish All were released.
Biggest catch of the morning was my left hand ring finger 4cm, 48gms. My own fault for rushing a new lure and not crimping the barbs. Quickly split the O ring and separated the treble from the lure and got a few more casts in before heading home to fix the wound. Cut the hook off and tried to push all the way through but couldn't get it to budge - down to the docs and had it removed - now with permanent nerve damage to the top third as it severed the nerve
Wife thinks it was because i didn't want to wash up
    Anyway - top session regardless

Great looking fish and photos. My guess is that the treble went into the finger on the first cast and the rest of the fish were attracted to the blood burley trail, must give this new burley method a go. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

OWWWWW, woulda hurt a bit. Great fish. Nice finger shot. Once caught a foot fish about 29cm to the fork. Didnt move much once it realised it was hooked. Mate grabbed it, twisted it and pulled straight out. But i suppose trebles a tad different to hooks on a herring jig. lol

    Mate,
those things are nasty. Bet it gave you hell when you tried to push it through at home. Glad to hear that your not too disappointed though - still sounded stoked with your session. Sorry to hear about the loss of sensation, seriously mate it will be important that you are careful when cooking, cutting, cleaning fish etc.
    Cheers Fritzy
PS. Maybe you will need your wife to do all of these duties for the time being...

Mate those are some sensational fish!!! Me and my buddys are itching to get out there and throw some lures for bass, but we're not too sure if its warm enough......obviously your results suggest they are on the chew!
Just one question.......and you dont even have to answer this.....was the location you fished in southeast Queensland???
    Cheers and once again, congrats!!
