Dead right Jas we were in a tailcraft profish for the macks and GTs, but we were on board a 7mtr AMM for the night time red fishing. Bloody nice boat that.

Yeh Mark, Karen did enjoy her day out on the water, after all it was her birthday, so she deserved a good a fish or too. Must do it again soon.

    Hi Megafish 71
Im working my way up to Cooktown in mid October fishing the barra lakes and estarys as I tow my boat up from Brissy. Can you suggest any rivers or estaries in the Cooktown region worth giving a go and are the lizards common in the region. I have a 4m edgetracker fitted with a 50 which is fine down here just not sure about up there. Any info would be greatly appricated.

G'day Mossie, don't know a lot about the barra scene around Cooktown, however a bloke staying at the caravan park I was at, was filleting a couple of nice Barra on Saturday. Both fish were in the early 80cm area and were caught in the Endeavour river. In a boat like yours you could easily get out to the reefs where we got those macks and GTs. Its only a short 30min run out the front in good conditions.

    Cheers Ron

I sure hope that boat your in isnt a quinnie mate, lol catch ya... foxy
Nah Foxy, not a Quintrex, A trailcraft. Wouldn't have been able to get on board a Quintrex now. Bloody things would sink if I got on one now, after all that I have said about them.
