    Good on ya mate... [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
been trying to get the live tank sorted myself to get my young fella one or 2
    Question Steve?
Is Dan just holding the rod, or using a gimble, is the rod or him secured in anyway? or is a nice light drag setting the go?

    Cheers

Give a man a fish, he'll eat it and fall asleep.

Teach a man to fish and he'll endanger an entire species

    Hi Peter
We tried using one of my gimbles but his skinny arse wouldn't hold it up., so Dan went back to his usual style of sticking the butt between his legs. If he is going to acheive his aim of catching a marlin this season I will have to get a junior harness and gimble. I secure the rod to the boat as he has dropped a rod one trip fishing for mackeral when he lost his balance. But Dan wasn't secured. He started on about 3kg of drag but i backed that off after about ten minutes because I wasn't sure who would expire first. When the fish got close to the boat I pushed it back up to strike.

Peter I have a couple of 4m straps that I tie off to the bollard and clip to the harness clips or around the rod above the reel when he gets a strike.

The only thing you have got to remember to tell him is that I am about his age and I have never caught cobia so congrats.
