    M2 MADNESS

Left Bribie at 5.30am for the M2 to chase some schoolies and cobia. Lives were hard to come by but enough made there way into the live tank to start fishing. Scoota was first up and as soon as the livey reached the eddy behind the beacon he was hooked up. After a short fight a 26lb Cobia hit the deck. This process was repeated with each drift resulting in a hook up. Four nice cobia were kept for the esky (20lb-26lb) with the rest released to fight another day.Three guys in 685 Outsider were using heavy metal jigs and were cleaning up as well. No mackeral not enough lives too many cobia.

Church attendances will be down and we'll have to tithe and offer via eftpos?!?!

My 3.7 metre flatbottom punt makes my decision for me ... it'll be "crabs" : rather than "crabeaters"

    Hi Blocka,

I'm the guy in the 685. When we arrived we could see four cobia following the boat. Frustrated because we couldn't get any livies, we decided to give the knife jigs a go. This resulted in an immediate hook up.

We kept two of the five cobia and decided to head to Wide Caloundra. I'll post it up soon.

Great work, and it was nice to see you release the cobia back to the water.

    Nice work Blocka,

Went past M2 about 10.30-11.00 yesterday, Was no boats there but plenty of livies. The mackeral were also around the northern beacons along with huge schools of bait.

    Keep up the good work.

    Mick.
