Well we went for our first fish of the new year yesterday turned out to be not a bad pick,. Got up early about 2am to get down to the cleveland boat ramp for about a 4:30 launch. The weather didnt look the best but we thought it was only going to get better so we persisted. As we were driving along we were greeted by a moderate 10 - 15 knot NE breeze but the closer we got to peel the calmer it went. We headed out to the south side of peel just off the spit beacon where we started our first drift not much to start with but as we hit yhe 5.5m mark the hits started comin. so decided to anchor up on the drop. Turned out to be a good move, as soon as the first drop we were getting hit every drop and after the first hour we had boated about 40 sweetlip all around 27cm, 28cm but we did manage to get 4 keppers the biggest being 33cm. And we managed to bag 2 nice legal moses perch. plus the usual vermin like not eels puffer fish and grinners(which came in handy for bait) the suprising thing was only 1 squire and it was a baby oh well maybe next time cya on the water
