9.1.06 nerang arvo sesh
After converting one of my good mates to fish plastics, i was pumped when he asked if i wanted to hit the nerang up for a late arvo session with softies trecking through the canals on foot. Arriving at around 4.30, we quickly made our way into the canals and landed 4 undersized bream, 2 small flathead and a pretty nice trev by 5 oclock, all caught on Berkley 3' fry's, and pearl watermelon on 1/12 and 1/8 tt jigheads and the trev on an atomic jerk minnow. We then met up with a mate who was stayin down and had a lil tinny and things started to fire up as sunset neared. Caught another 2 small bream, and then landed a decent one. On the way back to my mates place, the trevally started to hit the surface, and i told my mates to cast out and use a really quick retrieve. And all 3 casts, hookd up, however we only landed one nice big eye, which had a few screaming runs on 6lb leader during the 8 min fight. Anyway, headed back really pumped that nick's first trevally was pretty decent and that further trips are now garanteed!
cheers danny shep
