Nudgee creek.
Headed down to nudgee creek with a couple of packs of 3 inch fry gulps in pumpkin seed colour. Tossed around the mudflats for 30 minutes only to find these things just get cut in half then quarters then 8ths by bloody toadfish. So i headed upriver a little for a flick. A couple of bumps and a flash of sliver and bang, 28cm bream was caught and released Kept flicking around and found the toadies again, so moved up further where the creek is only around 10m wide, almost about to pack it in when right at my feet the gulp got gulped! After a short battle i landed a 53cm flattie. I would have released him but im under strict orders from the old girl that flathead fillets are on order! So happy with that off home for a few quite ales

yeah cuzza, never had a flattie of that size do that.
i walked all the way around that board walk and a little further. lots of bait up there and plenty of action, good to watch the bream hunt in the shallows!

Re: Nudgee creek.
The Gulps sometimes get savaged by the blowies -especially in the nudgee creek.
Every now and then you get one of those days where you lose 3 tails in 3 casts.
I've found the 3" bass minnows (Watermelon and Smelt) work a treat in the nudgee on bream, got onto a heap on the turn of the high tide early december last year.
happy hunting

Re: Nudgee creek.
Good work Rob It is very nice to get a flathead so close!
I got one at sandersons (Brighton side of the Hornybrook Bridge) one day, i was flicking for near 2 hours for nothing then at the mouth of the little creek about 3 foot away from me bang! wasn't anyware near as big as yours, actually it came outa the water when i hit it Lol. was about 30cms i think but in only a couple of inches of water! makes you think about how you fish dosn't it?
cheers
Brandon.
