    Trevs down the Tweed

    Hi All

After reading all your guys posts around the broadwater I managed to squeeze a quickie in on Monday morning while trying to play catchup on all the work. I went down the Tweed for about an hour and got two nice trevs on one of the The new E-Grell spin Rods. First one on a jighead and second one fishing a drop shot in the ripping current.I had another good fish on for a while but the hook pulled. It was good to get out on the river again and take the explorer for a run.I hope to get out a bit more in the next few weeks and chase a few more red devils.

    Good fishing to you all

    Rod,

Nice Trevor - always fun on light gear! I was thinking of hitting the Tweed this weekend, although with the northern end of the coast fishing so well, it may be hard not to go that end...I guess tomorrow morning's session might give me a few hints.

Good to see you getting out there again!

Lovely big Eye there flickflack. Great work. What sort of retrieve did u use to nab that one? just the norm, or was there alot of surface action and u employed a more erratic and faster retrieve?

Nice catch rod. I eat my big eye, and I find em to be good. I bbq em in foil with lemon pepper and lime juice.

So please tell us more about the drop shot rig in current. How deep was the water? You use a heavy sinker to hold bottom, and set the lure at what depth?
Light trace, no jig head? Are the trevors feeding mid to high water, or near the bottom?
Action is just a slight twitch up and down? Does all this sound about right....

    thanks in advance.

No mate from my tinnie just got out to take the pic because the current was running too hard and I was alone.

cheers mate thanks for the tip

    Danny

Fish were on the bottom so basic lift and drop

    Andrew

I got the first one on the jighead and then changed after losing 2 jigheads. I used a 3/4 ounce weight and just basicaly lift and drop the plastic. The trevs really like it because of the erratic action it gives the lure.

Thats the one mate got some from Tracker boats the previous day to top up the zooms I brought with from South Africa.
