    Scarby sweetie

Hey all ausfishers and guests, I fished Scarborough reef today with about twenty other hopefulls in great conditions, 5 - 10 knts breeze bugger all swell nad slightly overcast so as not to be too hot. Started out crappy by setting the alarm for 3pm instead of 3am so I didn't get out quite as early as I would have liked. Flicked all sorts of plastics today but found the gulps to be standouts with almost instant success and continuing to draw strikes. I took 2 outfits with me today one loaded with 6 pound and the other with 4 pound. I got well and truly dusted up on the 4 pound gear on about 4 or 5 occasions just being unable to stop fish before they found shelter. I lost a 30+cm bream at the boat whilst wrestling with the landing net and hooked up and dropped a fish thinking that I had been bitten off only to find that my jighead had come free leaving my loop knot completely intact. Ended up landing a nice 35cm grass sweetlip, which was a first for me, I hope to catch many more of these critters in the future as it put on a good show with several powerful runs and a never say die attitude.

    Cheers Kev
