headed out down the coast early this morning, plan was to throw poppers but the morning started pretty slowly with no fish on the popper or on plastics, after plenty of moving around without so much as a touch, my plastic got hit and took off at speed,I had not long started using a rig spooled with 4lb fireline luckily the fish stayed away from problem areas and to my surprise a jack emerged from the depths suddenly the morning wasn't so slow . We continued on for the rest of the morning with only 1 small flattie making its way to the boat.

    Cheers

good work matty - I bailed not long after I saw you. the morning had so much promise but failed to deliver! saw Andrew and he was having a shocker too. it got so bad I went to your Moses Perch spot just so I could remember what it felt like to catch fish. landed one after the second cast, released him and I moved on (they love those Gulps).

I can only think the high was a bit too early and the runout made the water dirty up and shut it down? Perhaps in 2 or 3 days it might be better?

anyway, top fish for a tough day

Well done matty, it was a tough morning, but you made it look easy. Me and mate didnt get a bite all morning.

Marty, I think UR right about the early tide. Another few days and it might be better. I was gonna go weds as well, but now I'll leave it to thurs or fri.

    cheers
    Andrew

I was out on the broadwater as well. ended up going all the way to the pin after launching the edgie at Seaworld. Perfect morning up there. Met with the fisheries guys - they were puting the sign back at the mouth of swan bay.

The weather was about as good as it gets early, but it blew up about 2.30.

Caught about 14 flaties for the day.... only one of them would have been legal. All released.
