    DI point Saturday 04/02

I was invited to join a couple of chaps ,for an LBG session at DI Point. Left Brisbane about 3.30 AM to arrive at the point at about 6.00am
None of us had visited the area so we were relying on hearsay as to locations.
This proved a bit of a problem and it took us longer to identify a suitable location
than anticipated, and longer again to reach the site( definately not for the faint hearted, a very difficult climb down and even more difficult climb out). By the time we were set up it was 8.00 oclock . First couple of casts resulted in a strike from a spaniard (no Hook-up) and a 2 kg bludger trevally released . Then a very heavy unstoppable that went straight for the base of the cliff for a bust off.( none of this action on my rod unfortunately)
We were then unable to fish for 40 minutes as three spearos swam straight into our casting arc and ignored our plea for a fair go.
By the time they moved away the wind had started to come in from the SE and the bait fish just cleared out. We had a few more spins but the rising tide started to cause some concern so we decided to exit the ledge and have a bit of a camp before an afternoon session the other side of the headland. This proved to be a mistake as with the tide up we couldnt get up the beach to the rocks . so we called it quits and came home early.
On the bright side I now have a couple of LBG gurus who are keen to show me how its done.

    Hi Dan
No weed at all where we were and there didnt seem to be any on the beach. There water was quite discoloured (brown ) for the first 5 Ks then gradually cleaned up.
Mate can you give me a hand posting some pics, cant seem to get the hang.
    Rob
