I came in at 1pm and it was dead calm. However, going by the Inner Beacon wind measurement, it looks like I picked my timing well...so did the wind blow up as predicted?

lovely day and fish tops!!!
Well done again Charleville, look like you're making the most of your long service leave. Where do you launch from and what kind of boat do you have? I'm hoping to get out to Mud a bit more (though unfortunately only on the weekend), and I'll keep an eye out for you...
good luck,
Mike
2iar - I just have 4.75m Quintrex Bayhunter Caprice with a Merc 60hp 4 stroke on the back. "Miss Wendy".Where do you launch from and what kind of boat do you have?
I usually launch from Manly boat harbour but have occasionally launched from Whyte Island. I am not a big fan of Whyte Island to go to Mud from. It is much closer than Manly but it is generally a less smooth trip, especially when the tugs and other big craft go by. Also, there can be a bit more island protection from the bigger waves by travelling from Manly.
I think that we all know that Mud Island can be particularly productive so it is an attractive option always and during the week, it is possible to just drift around there like you cannot necessarily do on the weekends without keeping a watchful eye open for other vessels. There were no other boats anywhere around me on Tuesday. The only boat that went near me was a sailing boat that went past under power as there was no wind for their sails.
Tuesday morning would have been a great time to go across the paddock but there are few reports of spotties etc in these pages so a lazy morning was spent just drifting along wherever the current took me.
