Got another jack

Gidday all,
Just a brief rundown on my last couple of trips.Friday night 10/2,went to my little spot in the broadwater landbased and 2nd cast managed to hold onto and land 36cm jack.This is my 2nd jack in 2 weeks and i did keep this fellow to eat,it will be the last.Conditions weren't good 20-30knt into my face,the odd misty shower moving through as well.Went home that night with 2 bream,1 jack,1 moses parch,and a cold,wasn't feeling flash before going but still did.

Saturday arvo boat 11/2, 1 slatey in canals in Runaway Bay area(realeased),1 60cm approx flathead realeased when busted my 6lb line next to boat,serves me right for leaving the net at home.Home with nothing.Brother came down from Brisvegas Saturday night,got leave pass again and went to same spot as Friday night and ended up with 2 bream and another moses perch for the BBQ.

Monday13/2 ducked down to the seaway landbased,had only a few enquiries except for the 1st cast that resulted in a bust off on 6lb gear again.I think by the head shakes that it was a school jew.No one else caught a fish in the 2 hours i was there.

Yesterday arvo,me and the girls went to Saltwater Creek,1 bream,1 just under muddie and 1 catfish all returned.

All fish were caught on mullett,I have pics but left my memory stick at home.

Even catching nothing is a good time.Actually with the jack Friday night it took off so hard i thought hmm big flattie possibly well i'd better move round the rocks to a little patch of sand.In the dark by myself scrambleing over rocks(nearly busted my big toe,had japanese safety boots on)i was saying a couple of choice words.Forgot about toe really quickly though when i saw what i'd caught.It was truly a memorable moment,i'll take that one to the grave.

Could also explain all the runs and bustoffs we've had here in that spot over the last year.At least 1 per trip.Happened again Saturday night.Must hold lot more jack me thinks.

GR01, on your first trip you say you caught a cold, but next day you are back out there... and again..and again. I love it!! You could be onto something here, medicine Ausfish style, fish til you feel better!!

You caught something in Saltwater Ck????? I went past in on Sunday arvo after surviving on the Broadwater in the storms, and it looked like a river of chocolate.....

Yes, saltwater creek is full of surprises,mostly dirty when the tide is ebbing but not bad on the making tide.I was talking to a fellow there yesterday and he was throwing prawn net,he didn't get any yesterday but says he often does.
