    Shornecliffe Landbased

Another quality 45cm flathead falls for a squidy fish. Taken near shornecliffe jetty at dusk yesterday. One other flathead dropped as lifting out of the water. Other than that a very quiet afternoon fishing soft plastics and hardbodies around the jetty and nearby creek entrance (to the south) and around it's moored boats.

Nice one pyro. Every time I drive past I think I should have brought my rod. Maybe next time.

Hey pyro nice flattie mate, theres plenty of action to be had in cabbage tree creek around those boats. Try using 1" atomic grubs on a tiny jighead, the bream love them.

    Pyro,

Also try flicking some SP's around the boat ramp in Cabbage Tree Creek opposite the entrance to Nundah Crk. Always worth a try.

Thanks people, and thanks for the tips R0b and Gigantor. I think I did try the boats and nearby boat ramp you mentioned, with an atomic fat grub too! ... but it was 2" pumpkinseed I think, not 1". I'll have to try it again, maybe early in the morning - it looked like a very fishy area which is why I tried it, but I didn't even get a tickle.

Haven't fished there for awhile but i've gotten Flathead, pike, and quite a few taylor late last year one taylor was 36cm! They were caught on a huge array of plastics mainly around 3' long.

At low walking out along the channel fishing the flats and dropoff produces good flathead sometimes too lots of rays around though..

    Cheers

    Pyro,

Another land based SP spot is the rocks around the outside of Woody Point (down below the Palace Hotel). Though using a long rod will be an advantage for casting and playing the fish. Some big bream around there.
