Noosa Trevors 15/02/06
Went for a pop this afternoon with my new Daiwa SW203L and rod, thought i'd try it on some trevally (gotta christen it sooner or later) and managed 8 decent ones with the biggest 47cm all within an hour. Had the drag pretty tight and using 30lb line and these mighty trevors were still peeling line off the reel. Didn't take any pictures as i was by myself and couldn't be bothered.

Sounds like a top session mate we are still getting into them down the Tweed as well. Excellent sportfish to catch.

TOp effort mate. I dont think there is a better fighting estuary fish on the light gear... well almost anyway. How good are the hits on the poppers. Where abouts roughly were you??? Somewhere withing a few hundred metres of woods bay???
Cheers

Jackash - I can't say exactly but not "Somewhere withing a few hundred metres of woods bay". The hits were good, had a couple of huge hits (big gt's maybe) that i missed because i was messing around with the drag and had it to loose
Raef - Reel is awesome =) Was casting about 30-40 metres with a 9cm popper that weighs about 10 grams. I also had a go with a 25gram slug and casted like 50 metres
